A picture speaks a thousand words…

Dear Toastmasters,

In the below collage there are fifteen  pictures.. and I just saved 15 thousand words that I needed to describe the celebration of 5th Chartering ceremony at Conclave last Friday. But If I had to recall back 24th of May 2013, even any number of words and pictures would fall short to give an accurate account of the evening that became so much special to all the Toastmasters present there and especially to me. Thank you Vishal, Ashokji, Akanksha, Pallavi, Vijitha, Siddhrtha, Ankita, Prerna, Sanjana for doing all the hard work for the impeccable arrangement, beautiful  awards, grand venue, fun games, delicious dinner and of-coarse yummy cake. You guys are awesome. Thank you Abdul and Naveen to ‘COALESCE’ to make the business part of the meeting so much more enjoyable. And a BIG thank you to all who were present in the celebration. We hope KTM will grow even bigger, better and healthier with your commitment and patronage.

Dear Toastmasters and friends,

Let me welcome you to the 5th Chartering Ceremony of Kolkata Toastmasters on 24th of May 2013, Friday at the Conclave Club. KTM, the first community toastmaster club born way back in 13th May 2008, a time when people in the Culture City of eastern India would associate Toastmasters with Bread and Sandwich, now have become the Light-house club of leadership and communication. And like every year, we are going to pamper our beloved Club, its members and guest with relaxing fun games, delightful delicacies and a gripping one and half hour of Toastmaster Session, something Kolkata Toastmasters is very much specialized in.

However this year’s chartering ceremony of KTM has more than one added fillip to it. In the five years of its colorful journey, Kolkata Toastmasters for the first time got painted Golden, the color of royalty, when it was awarded the most awaited Golden Gavel at Oration 2013.  As our laughing Buddha TM Vishal would say make some noise….. Clap Clap Clap….and keep the applause rolling,,, as Kolkata Toastmasters now boasts of a District Champion in our very own charismatic Toastmaster Naveen Misra. For the first time in the history of District 41, a Division G representative became a champion in Table Topics  when he associated half loaf with world peace @ Oration 2013. Here I must quote TM Ayan Pal(Division  G Governor 12-13) “We salute you for not even waiting to blink, before you began to think on your feet!”

With so much ‘G’oodness around us, it’s time look at what’s in store for us in the 5th Chartering Ceremony!

1. Great Meeting hosted by the Master Himself: TM Abdul Rahim

2. Educative Prepared Speeches and Innovative Table Topics
3. Entertaining Games
4. Beautiful Awards and Rewards
5. Lip Smacking Food
6. Wine Toasting
7. Music & Dance

All this and much more, comes at a paltry sum of Rs. 300. We promise to make sure every penny counts. And a Promise is a Promise !!

Regards

Subhendu Majumder, VP-Ed
